Art’s passion is restoration. From vernacular rural structures to primitive antique furniture..... and lots of oddities in between. The wood shop in the restored sawmill building at Clear Springs provides the home base for this activity.

The projects here involve the structural restoration of antique furniture as well as creating honest reproduction pieces to fit a specific space or need.

Further, as a result of Donna’s fiber habits, Art has also fallen into a rather specialized niche in providing detailed and precise restoration services for antique spinning and weaving equipment. Over the past 7 years, more than 40 spinning wheels, looms and winders have passed through his shop, including pieces from significant private collections as well as area museums.

Currently Art spends a good bit of his time in off-site architectural restoration projects, working with home owners who care about the needs of their historic properties.
